Ask yourself this:

I heard this in a YouTube video today.
The next time you're about to have a negative thought, stop and ask yourself,
"Would you say that to a 5 year old?"
It really struck a chord with me. I wouldn't want to hurt my 5 year old self, and I'm still that person, so why am I so hard on myself? Here's the video link What do you guys think? What are your ideas for ending negative self-talk?

This video had a good point. I have a 5 year old daughter, so it may have it me different than you (which is awesome in a way!). I would never dream of saying anything negative to my baby or to my younger self. I've never heard of asking yourself that question, but it makes a lot of sense. Thank you for posting! Keep on doing what you are doing, beautiful lady!

I had never heard it either, but it's a great concept! I just had to share :)
