Lady Gaga: "Dieting is Making Girls Sick"

Lady Gaga recently revealed her past struggles with bulimia to an audience of girls attending the "It's Our Turn" conference. She also talked about her frustration with all the pressure to be perfect.

When a student struggling with body image issues asked Lady Gaga about how she deals those insecurities, the singer confessed that she was bulimic in high school and stopped when the illness started to affect her singing voice. She urged the student to get help and offered this advice to all girls who are caught up in the quest for thinness:

"Every video I'm in, every magazine cover, they stretch you -- they make you perfect," she confessed. "It's not real life. I'm gonna say this about girls: The dieting has got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it's affecting kids your age -- and it's making girls sick."

What do you think of Lady Gaga's advice?
